Distant Early Warning

On reconnaissance outside Resolute Bay on Cornwallis Island, Nunavut, Canadian Arctic Operations Advisors walk on the wreckage of an airplane in temperatures below minus 50 degrees Celsius (-58 F). Extreme weather and temperatures have resulted in a number of airplane crashes in the high Arctic where it is too expensive to remove the wreckage of the aircraft.
