The approximate site of the world?s first acknowledged victim of asbestosis, who was a Rochdale Turner and Newall (T&N) asbestos worker called Nellie Kershaw. She died in 1924 from asbestosis. Nellie Kershaw lies in an unmarked ?paupers? grave in Rochdale cemetery. She died at the age of 33 as a mother to two children. T&N was once the world's largest asbestos company.
